Noise Control For Buildings and Equipment analysis - testing - design Noise Criteria - Community standards for outdoor noise are typically limited by overall dBA criteria. NC-Curves (Noise Criteria) are the most widely used values for gauging indoor building noise. Criteria for many communities and indoor conditions are available with our service. Noise Analysis - STC-ratings of building materials are indicators for sound transmission through walls and floors. Sound absorption of materials (ceiling tile, carpet, etc.) largely determine the attenuation of noise from within the space. Analysis of mechanical and air flow noise with computer methods are used to graphically illustrate the results. Noise Monitoring - Noise control requires monitoring to assess a site or indoor space. This may result in a single number reading or a more detailed spectral analysis (by octave band) for data collection. Tests involving indicators such as dBA, NC and RC can be completed by ESI. Noise Attenuation - Designing low noise levels is critical to any project. Isolation and barrier details are important in the design. ESI has been in the building industry for over 30 years and we are knowledgeable about building construction and equipment noise. We work with design of electron microscope, MRI and semiconductor facilities.
